The International Exposure Trip to Thailand 2024 was a complete game-changer, a perfect blend of learning, adventure, and culture that blew everyone's mind!

 Human-Centered Design Workshop

The adventure began at a Human-Centered Design workshop in Bangkok, led by the visionaries Daryl Lim and Rosemary Phan, who in fact are the founders of DesignThinkers Academy. The purpose of this workshop was to give the students the tools to be able to come up with solutions by really understanding the real needs of people. It wasn't just classroom teaching but all the students had hands-on experience in it; these included user research, brainstorming sessions, and prototyping. Students learned how to address problems from different perspectives and generate ideas that could indeed make an impact.

Idea pitching at Thammasat University

Later, the students visited Thammasat University which was established in 1933, known as one of the best academic institutions in Thailand for its high quality of academics and international orientation. At this university, students were to present their entrepreneurial ideas. As a part of Biz Innovate Project students worked on finding answers to real problems. Students had to prepare their ideas after collecting and analysing information and then present it before a panel of experts. It was very productive because it gave the students an opportunity to discuss with experts and a chance to improve their ability to express and articulate ideas coherently.

Quantum Leap - Leaping Ahead in Leadership Skills

The next destination? Pattaya, to attend the Quantum Leap Leaders Programme. A two-day course focused on leadership that involves stepping up, making wise decisions, and leading teams confidently. Not just a theory of leadership but of getting practical insights into team dynamics and making decisions. Students walked out feeling they could take charge of any situation.

A Cultural and Personal Growth Journey

Beyond the workshops, the trip was a full-on cultural deep dive. The students were fully engaged in the Thai environment, connected with locals, and enjoyed exploring the country together. It's not just about learning, it's about personal growth, building relationships and memories that will last a lifetime. Those who didn’t go really missed out on a unique experience!

In summary, the trip was a definite highlight overall. It was not just learning a few skills, but also discovering perspectives, developing leadership, and experiencing Thailand. Islington College made it easier, students responded with thanks. Something that you definitely did not want to miss.
